Botulinum toxin (Botox) is a protein that relaxes the muscles for 3-6 months. It has been used in aesthetic medicine for decades to smooth facial wrinkles. In cases of strong, prolonged sweating of the underarms, palms or soles of the feet, injecting Botox under the skin inhibits the activity of the sweat glands for several months.
The professional team at Dermacare provides a comprehensive consultation before every treatment, in order to understand your personal needs and match the most precise solution for reducing wrinkles or treating other conditions, such as excessive sweating and migraines.
With convenient access, fair prices and uncompromising service, Dermacare is the ideal choice for Botox treatments.

Botox (botulinum toxin or BTA) is a natural protein secreted by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and isolated through a complex purification process. Botulinum toxin is used in aesthetic medicine to smooth wrinkles in the face, neck and décolletage, as well as to treat conditions of overactive sweat glands. In addition, Botox has been found to be especially effective in treating migraine attacks.
The formation of expression lines is the result of genetic factors and varies according to the overactivity of the muscles in the facial area. When botulinum toxin is injected into the muscles, it blocks the passage of nerve signals, so the injected muscle cannot stretch and contract as usual. Relaxing the injected muscles smooths the wrinkles, without changing the natural facial expression. In addition, when Botox is injected in a targeted way, it can reduce the activity of the sweat glands and help reduce migraine pain.
Before each treatment, we will discuss together the areas you would like to treat. Using an ultra-thin needle, the substance is injected into the area you have chosen. The sensation of pain during the injection is minimal (patients sometimes report a mild burning sensation), but if you wish, we will be happy to offer local anaesthesia. The effect begins to be felt after 2-3 days, and the full effect is seen after about a week. The wrinkle-smoothing results last between 4-6 months, and in the treatment of hyperhidrosis the effect lasts on average 12 months. Very rarely, the effect may be completely absent.
Depending on the number of areas you wish to treat, a Botox treatment takes between 5 and 20 minutes. If a preliminary consultation is needed, it is worth allowing about 30 minutes for the whole process. Our doctors take the time to give you in-depth advice and to make the treatment as pleasant as possible.
In rare cases, skin reactions or infection, mild swelling or small bruises may appear. Therefore, avoid taking blood-thinning medication for at least a week before the treatment. Very rarely, effects such as temporary drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow, excessive tearing, headaches, dry mouth, fatigue, a tingling sensation or a general feeling of illness may occur. All side effects are temporary, according to current knowledge. Botulinum toxin treatment is prohibited in cases of neurological or muscular diseases, as well as during pregnancy.
By taking certain medications (such as vitamin C and various antibiotics), the effect may be reduced or cancelled out completely. After the injection, it is recommended to avoid heavy physical exertion and contact with the injected areas for 12 hours. For a week, it is advisable to avoid activities that may lead to increased blood flow (such as saunas, sun, tanning beds, sport).
So that the substance spreads well in the muscle, it is recommended to stretch the treated muscles frequently for several hours after the treatment.
Yes! After Botox treatment, you can return to normal activity immediately and attend to all your affairs. Occasionally slight bruising may form, but it can usually be covered with make-up.
