How SHR technology with 4 wavelengths works and the benefits of laser hair removal for men.
With more than 16 years of experience in hair removal, Dermacare offers advanced treatment with the Spectra Inwave 4 device. This laser, which includes SHR technology and 4 wavelengths, is today considered an effective, safe and almost painless method of laser hair removal for men.
SHR, short for Super Hair Removal, is a patented technology for laser hair removal. Unlike older methods such as IPL (intense pulsed light) or "regular" lasers, which were limited to treating relatively light skin tones only, SHR technology is now suitable for almost all skin and hair types.
Our device's four-wavelength laser technology combines four effective wavelengths for laser hair removal for men. This combination makes it possible to treat all depths of the hair root in the different layers of the skin simultaneously. In the Spectra Inwave 4 device, wavelengths of 755 nanometres, 810 nanometres, 940 nanometres and 1064 nanometres are combined, which makes the treatment suitable for almost all skin and hair types.
The unique combination of the 4 wavelengths turns the technology into the Super Hair Removal (SHR) method. With this technology, fine and light hairs, which in the past were difficult or impossible to remove, can also be treated successfully. The same is true of blond or grey hair, which with SHR technology can be removed in most cases.
The four wavelengths allow treatment adapted to all skin types. With lasers of earlier generations, with fewer wavelengths, dark or tanned skin was often a challenge. With the Spectra Inwave 4 device, treatments can be performed in all seasons of the year – both in summer and in winter.
The laser with four diodes works gently, protects the skin better than older systems, and provides a significantly more comfortable treatment experience. The treatments are performed almost painlessly, and can be carried out on all areas of the body: face, shoulders, back, chest, abdomen, arms, legs and intimate areas. Many men prefer to have hair removal on the back, shoulders and abdomen. Moreover, side effects of treatments with Spectra Inwave 4 are minimal and temporary, which makes them a safe and effective choice.

Our professional team will be happy to advise you in a consultation and tailor the treatment to your needs. During this in-depth conversation, you will receive a personal assessment of the expected outcome and all the important information about the treatment process and aftercare.
The laser's treatment head is cooled, so treatment is almost painless. A consultation always takes place first.
Before the treatment begins, a consultation takes place in which all your questions can be answered. Dermacare's team of experts will give you professional, comprehensive advice on everything relating to laser hair removal.
As part of the consultation and before every treatment, a medical questionnaire is completed. The purpose of the questionnaire is to identify possible risks and prevent them in advance.
Before the hair removal treatment begins, the skin is cleansed and disinfected and the hair is shaved, if you have not already shaved it yourself.
Shaving the hair ensures that the laser beam can reach the skin and the hair follicles without interference.
The skin area to be treated is divided, using a special marker, into small areas, which are treated one after the other with the hair removal laser. Moles are covered for protection during the treatment.
To cool the skin and transfer the laser energy optimally, a cooling gel is applied to the skin.
The treatment head of the SHR laser device is moved quickly several times over the pre-marked areas of skin. During the process, the device releases up to 10 light pulses per second. The treatment head is cooled, which reduces possible redness. A key advantage of SHR technology: the treatment involves almost no pain, unlike conventional laser or flash-lamp hair removal!
After the treatment, any remaining cooling gel is wiped off the skin and the white markings are gently removed.
To care for the skin, we apply a soothing aloe vera gel to the treated area. The hairs that were shaved before the treatment are still in the skin after the procedure ends. These hairs will fall out naturally, depending on the treated area of the body, within 5-21 days. A hair follicle that has been treated and destroyed cannot produce new hair.

The term "permanent hair removal" is defined by the FDA (the US Food and Drug Administration) as a significant reduction of hair for a period longer than the hair growth cycle in the treated area. The oldest method of achieving permanent hair removal is needle epilation. However, in recent years laser and IPL technologies have been used more and more for hair removal, with considerable success. The SHR method, which uses four wavelengths, is the most advanced innovation in laser hair removal technology.
Long-term studies carried out over the years have shown that the effect of professional hair removal is long-lasting: hair follicles that have been destroyed do not produce hair again.
Most people do not experience side effects. A normal reaction is redness of the skin immediately after the treatment. This reaction usually disappears within a few hours or, at most, within a few days.
The duration of the treatment depends on the size of the treated area. The treatment time ranges from 5 minutes for small areas up to an hour for a full-body treatment.
With SHR technology, between 4 and 8 treatments are usually required. Repeating the treatment is necessary because only about 12-15% of the body's hair is in the growth phase (the anagen phase). Only hair in this phase is optimally suited for treatment, since only hair attached to the papilla (the area destroyed through the denaturation process during treatment) can be fully disabled to prevent regrowth. The remaining hair follicles are in resting phases beneath the skin and can therefore be optimally removed only in later treatments. The number of treatments required for hair removal cannot be estimated exactly in advance, since every person has different individual conditions that affect the success of the treatment.
The cost depends on the area of the body and the size of the treated area. We offer significant discounts when purchasing treatment packages or treating several areas.
