How to get rid of large pores and blackheads

In brief

  • Pores are a natural part of the skin and cannot be closed, but genetics, excess sebum production, UV damage and age make them look prominent.
  • Creams, retinoids and peels usually work only superficially, so anyone who wants a lasting improvement needs a treatment that works deep in the skin.
  • Radiofrequency microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production and improves skin texture and evenness.
  • The treatment is performed with Ultima Restore technology using the Fusion Tip and 3D microneedles.
  • 2-3 treatments 6-8 weeks apart are recommended, sometimes with an annual refresher treatment.

Anyone who spends a little longer in front of the mirror in the morning knows this nuisance. Instead of smooth, even facial skin, large, visible pores on the cheeks, nose and forehead get in the way. Your eye keeps returning to the same spots, make-up "sinks in" and the skin does not look fresh. Large pores may not be a medical problem, but for many people they are an aesthetic nuisance that can undermine self-confidence.

So what really helps against large pores if you do not just want to cover them up, but improve the appearance of your skin permanently?

Why do pores become noticeably large?

Pores are a natural part of the skin, through which sebum and sweat are secreted. They cannot be "closed" or removed, but various factors can make them considerably more visible.

Genetic predisposition, excess sebum production, UV damage or age-related loss of elasticity lead to large pores. The skin looks less fresh and loses its evenness. People with oily or acne-prone skin are often noticeably affected.

What helps against large pores?

Many skincare products promise quick help. Retinoids, peels or blurring creams can improve skin texture, but they usually work only superficially.

Large pores and blackheads

Anyone who wants to reduce large pores permanently needs a treatment that works deep within the skin and renews its structure from the inside. This is exactly where radiofrequency microneedling comes in – a modern technology that specifically stimulates skin renewal and the formation of collagen and elastin. It is a particularly effective treatment for achieving a smooth, even appearance.

The solution – radiofrequency microneedling

Radiofrequency microneedling uses ultra-fine needles that create micro-channels in the skin. At the same time, targeted radiofrequency heat energy is released deep into the skin. This combination stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, making the skin noticeably firmer, more even and smoother.

Unlike superficial methods, radiofrequency microneedling works from the inside. As a result, large pores are visibly reduced, skin texture improves and the complexion looks more even within a short time.

Particularly on skin with large pores, skin that is not fresh or sun-damaged skin, the treatment delivers impressive results with minimal recovery time. The treatment is safe and gives renewed vitality.

Advanced technology for even, smooth skin

Radiofrequency microneedling is performed using the innovative Ultima Restore technology – an advanced development similar to the well-known Morpheus-8 system, but working on the skin in a more precise and gentler way.

Fusion Tip technology

The Fusion Tip creates a gentle vacuum on the skin tissue, ensuring that the microneedles penetrate the skin evenly. Even penetration leads to precise energy delivery, better stability and, of course, a better result – all with a lower risk of side effects.

3D microneedles

The special 3D microneedles release radiofrequency energy not only at the tip but along the entire length of the needle. This intensively stimulates collagen formation in all layers of the skin, for even more effective pore reduction and skin rejuvenation.

Not just pores – what else does radiofrequency microneedling treat?

In addition to large pores, the method is also used for:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars and surgical scars
  • Pigmentation spots and uneven skin tone
  • Skin laxity on the face, neck and décolleté
  • Double chin and cellulite

Thanks to its deep action, skin texture improves permanently, for a noticeably even-looking complexion.

Initial results are often visible after just one treatment. The skin looks smoother, softer and more supple. For an optimal result, 2-3 treatments 6-8 weeks apart are recommended, sometimes with an annual refresher treatment.

Frequently asked questions

During the first three hours after the peel, the treated area must not be exposed to water or cosmetic products. After that, a moisturiser or sunscreen can be applied.

During a series of peel treatments, products containing vitamin A must not be used. Avoid sun exposure during the treatments and for up to two weeks after they end. In the event of sun exposure, use a sunscreen with a high protection factor (at least SPF 20, and preferably higher).

To prolong the results of the treatment, it is recommended to continue caring for the skin with dedicated products, such as creams containing a low concentration of glycolic acid.

Radiofrequency microneedling is a versatile treatment that can be used to treat a wide range of skin problems, including:

  • Wrinkles
  • Loose skin
  • Scars (including acne scars and surgical scars)
  • Stretch marks
  • Reducing the appearance of pores
  • Pigmentation problems
  • Even fat accumulation (such as a bothersome double chin)

Proper preparation of the skin before the peel, as well as the aftercare, is essential to the success of the treatment. Anyone who is not prepared to follow the preparation and subsequent maintenance instructions is advised to avoid any aesthetic facial procedure, since without proper preparation good results cannot be achieved.

Please let us know if you smoke, if you have previously taken Roaccutane tablets, or if you suffer from internal diseases. A peel must not be performed during an active herpes outbreak or other acute inflammation, because of the risk of the infection spreading.

Before the treatment, you will receive a personal prescription from us that includes:
– A paraffin-based ointment
– An anti-inflammatory cream
– A moisturiser
– A sunscreen

As part of the skin preparation, retinol (Retin-A) cream and/or hydroquinone cream must be applied daily for 4-6 weeks before the peel. The cream must be applied evenly over the entire treated area, and not only on problem spots. In addition, a moisturiser and sunscreen must be used as part of the preparation process.

On the day of the peel, do not apply any make-up. Wash your face thoroughly with soap and water before arriving for the treatment.

In radiofrequency microneedling treatment, the micro-needles penetrate the skin and deliver pulses of heat. This heat encourages skin renewal and effectively treats wrinkles, scars and skin laxity. At Dermacare, the Morpheus 8 device is used, known for the impressive results it delivers.
